someone posted a requirement for a XO for a 8546-9500.
While the box that uses this XO is not a cuboid (it is a pyramid with a hexagonal base each side being 9" and the drivers are mounted on one of the sides of the pyramid) here goes....
Low Pass.
series inductor 2.2mH
parallel cap 18uf in series with 1 ohm resistor.
High Pass
6.8uf series cap
0.7mh inductor in parallel
L Pad (for tweeter)
4 ohms series
15 ohms parallel
Attenuation about 4.5db
Many thanks to Joe Venable, Thorsten Loesh and Ron Peterson of the Bass List (circa 1997) my notes which I found today say they contributed to this.
recomended modifications.
1. bypass 1 ohm resistor in Low Pass. also try ohms instead of 1 ohm.
2. replace 15ohm resistor in tweeter L pad with 10 ohms if the sound is too bright. This also changes XO freq but not by much.
