This is the best datasheet I've seen for the 6BQ5, with tons of useful graphs, including triode plate and distortion curves. It's a 1.9 meg PDF.

If you want actual history info on the 6BQ5, I can only suggest searching the archives at Audioasylum, because I'm sure Ive seen bits and peices of stuff about this mentioned, but you will have to dig through thousands of posts to find it. Or you try the books section at <a href="http://www.tubesandmore.com">Antique Electronics</a> in th US as they have quite a selection. I have no idea what book to recommend.
