So I have been brain storming on a 2.1 Boombox. Yes another Boom box thread! essentially what I want is a Podzuma on steriods. I have Picked out most of what I think I will use for speakers and amp. Let me know what you guys think.

For the amplifier..
Hifimediy DDX320v2 2.1 Digital Amplifier

Power supply
SMPS500R 28V 230V Power supply

Mid range: *4
Pyle PDMR5 5" Sealed Back Midrange 292-200
Pyle 5" Mid bass

Tweeter
Pyle PDBT18 Bullet Horn Tweeter Pair 272-110
Pyle bullet Tweeter

Subwoofer
Dayton Audio DCS205-4 8" Classic Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-200
Dayton 8" Classic sub

I chose the pyle mids because they are sealed so I dont have to make separate chambers for mids and sub which hopfully will bring down the overall size.

The amplifier seems to have some sort of crossover network built in so It looks like there is no need to design a passive network.

I am working on the overall design of the enclosure I hope to post it tomorrow but it will pretty much look like a podzuma with a subwoofer in the back. Im thinking rear facing sub to cut down on box size which i think i can get away with with the sealed mids.
I would really appreciate any input on my component selection.

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am kinda a newbe and this will be my first build.

If you choose to believe the PE 'spec,' that sealed back mid has: "Frequency Response 450 to 7,000 Hz"
You want your 'sub' to play up to 450Hz? You could use a dual voice coil sub and just run it in stereo w no XO...

For ALL of these boombox things, a nice pair of coax 6x9's with sufficient power (~100W) will blow you away...
