At one stage I approached Audiomatica with a view to building at least one (for me) and building a few to sell. But they said that for the remaining bits and a technology package it would be 30 grand. I lost interest real quick.

His comparison chart is informative. Even if he has several AT1000 he is not that keen on the performance and lack of support from the manufacturer
