Yeah, kinda getting to the size where the 1/3 offset isn't enough and becomes tall enough to need 1/2 or leave some squiggles of ripple. I think these kinds of boxes do better with a little ripple, personally. One cross-batt of something or other between driver and port and the rest a balancing exercise with the fabric, maybe, would be my thinking anyway, but I don't know the 12RS430's either.
I had some gaudy Utah boxes with a slot port about that size once and I remember the fabric damping exercise being really touchy. I ended-up enlarging the port about doubled so the fabric gave finer control/adjustment, FWIW.
