This pair of F-5 Clone Boards use the same circuit as the First Watt F-5 model.

The F-5 is probably the most popular amplifier being built on DiyAudio these days. It is simple to make, sounds fantastic, and has similar gain to many commercial amps. Populate these boards with your components, then add your own power supply, chassis and heat sinks to complete the amplifier.These generously sized high quality boards spread the output MOSFETS for efficient cooling. The mounting hole spacing is the same as all other diyAudio Version 2 boards.

The 4U Deluxe Amplifier Chassis makes a great home for this amplifier, and has pre-tapped holes that match the circuit board and transistor mounting positions.

• With this PCB you can make a 2 channel amp, or a massive monoblock depending on the output desired, PSU voltage, and the heatsinking available! Either way it should be used with the 5U x 400 chassis. You could also make a smaller monoblock using the 4U x 300 chassis, and only 2 of the output boards.

• These boards have now been proven to work, however we are only currently releasing a limited number to the community until we get more positive feedback.  Consider them beta boards and purchase and build at your own risk until further notice.

This is a variation of the First Watt F-5 clone with a total of four output devices and a cascode for the JFET input pair, as designed by our member "cviller". The additional output MOSFETS will allow the amp to drive lower impedences better and if you also implement the cascode, jack up the voltage, and have bigger heat sinks- produce more power. We call it the F-5c. If you aren't planning to have a total of 4 output devices and/or cascode the input, then you should probably order the regular F-5 boards here.
