In other words, the module can be a zero gain or a small gain device.
I'm moving my house, so I have no idea where my paperwork is located, sorry.

Oh, mine too is mounted on a preamp, please, help me to reach zero sound output, just to have a problem less

Piero 7,

OK, I'll look for the manual in my boxes today and try to help you with the settings.

Piero7,
Ok, I found the manual, Do you have the RElVol1 or RelVol1C board?
What is the value of your imput resistors? R28 & R29?
What is the input impedance of the linestage (preamp) after the attenuator board?

Changing the R28 &R29 values will change the total amount of attenuation.
I thought it was a jumper, but that was another board I had built.
I remembered wrong. Sorry.

I'm using an Aikido 6sn7 tube preamp with 100K impedance.

Don't forget that when this board turns on it doesn't start at the highest level of attenuation -63 but at -53, a midway point about 1/4volume.

I hope this helps, I can measure my resistors in R28 and R29 if needed.
I have to take my preamp apart to do it. Why I haven't done it yet.

Ron

Yo, mine is the RelVol1C, and I have for r28&r29 111K due my Aikido with E800CC is 1mega drid resistors

Nope, I get no volume zero even changing these two res and the grid resistors from 1M to 100K and adding 11K for r27&r28 Argh!!!

P7,
Good, mine's the RelVol 1 C version too, that will make it easier to help you.
I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood your problem.
Are you saying that you get 0 volume? No sound at all?
Or, your volume won't turn down all the way to 0dB?

We'll figure this out together!
Don't give up!

Ron

P7,
When you ordered your board from Mikkel, did you order the 10k or 100k resistor package?

Looking at my R27 & R28 I come up with 126M + 100K in series for each of the "Load Resistors".....? That doesn't sound right to me, but it's whats in there. Picture from my board. I don't remember exactly what I did to get those #s but I do know that I had to change them a few times to get the volume to adjust correctly. It has been a while since I built my Aikido.

What is the MU of you preamp? I thought mine was high at ~21MU.

Your tubes are E800CC right? Are they similar to the 12AU7? If so then the expected MU is ~ 17 -18MU.

Don't change the Grid stop resistors in the Aikido! Change the load resistors in the ReVol1C. Try a 100M resistor.

It doesn't sound right but that's what I ended up with.

Ron
