I don't think so. It had a good centimetre gap on every side. I had metal standoffs (all I could find), but used nylon washers. The board was only handled by the edges and the polarity of the power supply was carefully checked.

I could give it another go, sitting it on a non-conductive surface.

Update: Still the same. Ticking sound seems confined to left channel.

You wouldn't get that from your average Chinese supplier.

The EMI filtering must be doing its job as the amp is powered by a laptop supply and sits behind a TV and on top of an STB. Again - no hiss, hum or crackle. :cloud9:
