Its a J2 clone. IT is the Kairos kit but with the cab adapted to look similar to Joachim's version.

Joachim, and what is the actual sensitivity of the speakers? I guess the SPL you posted earlier is not normalized, because it cannot be 90db :-) Can you remind please what is the baffle tilt ?

Mundorf - Inner Excellence
You can use the Mundorf F50 10 3,5 Ohm. You have to add a resistor of 14,5 Ohm then for a total of 18 Ohm.
Other vendors like Intertechnik or Jantzen make stuff like that too.
This coil most not be of a particular high quality.
Ferrite core is fine.
The slant angle is 9.
I tell you more about the sensitivity soon.

The tweeter has 92 db efficiency and is dropped by the crossover by ca. 8dB so total efficiency is 84dB. That sounds low but you have to consider that it is 8 Ohm.

HI Joachim,

THX for sharing your know how...I am about to start a 2 way like the kalasan and for cabinet design purposes I have a couple of questions;

1) Does the baffle has to be tilted toward the back (Your cabinet looks to be that way)
2) What is the spacing center to center between the woofer and the tweeter?
3) How far is the tweeter from the top of the cabinet?

Thank you.

Hi Joachim,

Thank you for a very inspiring and detailed tread.

Two sets of Satori drivers have just arrived, so I am in the middle of designing the enclosures. Do you think it would be a good idea to build some small boxes for the tweeters, or do they need some other damping on the backside to shield them from impact form the woofers?

Are the baffle size and tilt values available for public?

Hi Joachim,
referring to post 1 : "I am designing a two way monitor for SB Acoustics that will eventually lead to a full documented Kit"

When can this kit be ordered and where?

I can wait ...
