Here you see how the decoupling was done in the Virgo.
This is 20 years ago so it is not a new idea.

In the Roksan Darius is was done even more drastic on springs.
Problem was that the baffle was left hollow. We solved it with a felt blanket.

Sorry if this has already been brought up ... Any idea when the kit would be available? And who'd be offering it?

We are working on some minor details like how to mount the crossover.
I think it will be available in a bit more then a month.
The kit will be distributed by the SB importers and some local dealers will have it too.
I will sell the kit too but even i have to buy it from the German importer.

Hi Mr. Gerhard,

I am planning to build the DIY 4 ohm version. Can you please indicate the size of the port tube at the back of the cabinet.

Also which is the easier load for an amplifier the DIY 4 ohm of the SB 8 ohm.

Thanks a lot.

Looking forward the progress on this...

SB acoustics drivers are produced in my country... shipping should be better for me.. (if only they offer the kit in my country...)

Default Question about measurements in #413

Hallo Joachim,

I have some questions about your measurements in #413:

1. I think Satori Mon DIY 1.0 FRD.pdf is the mesuremet infront of the box. Because the phase is linear falling it and no big steps can be found it looks ideal. Is this phase made by the step in front of the case?
2. How is this measurement Satori Mon DIY 1.0 FRD null.pdf, made, because it looks not so ideal?
3. Is in this mesurement Satori Mon DIY 1.0 individual phase.pdf the tweeter with the filter measured as red line and the bas as blue line separately?

Hi Ampi,
This measurement Satori Mon DIY 1.0 FRD null.pdf is made with reversed polarity on one of two speakers.

Hi Joachim,

Thank you for this outstanding contribution to the DIY world! The enclosures look quite intriguing but it is difficult to get an idea of their actual size. Would you be able to post the internal volume of these speakers? Just curious...
