I don't see this spelled out on the hypex web site.
The NC400 data sheet gives good info on available fault handling in section "8.1 Firmware Operation".

I guess it comes down to how long it takes to do this:"If the error persists, the FATAL line is asserted (pulled down) to turn the power supply off." faster than a voice coil can melt; seems possible, but it would be nice if Bruno or someone else who understands the circuit would confirm.

Have any of you who have built an ncore amp thought about this?

"8.1 Firmware operation
The microprocessor has three main functions: to provide an interface for controlling the amplifier, to monitor the supply voltages in order to prevent spurious operation during power up/down and to detect error conditions. Most errors clear automatically as soon as the error condition lifts. The exception is a fatal DC fault. When a large DC output is detected, the amplifier first shuts down to be able to differentiate between an actual power stage breakdown and a DC condition caused by DC at the audio input. If the error persists, the FATAL line is asserted (pulled down) to turn the power supply off. If the error goes away the amplifier turns back on."

Same here, not a big deal but was a bit surprised that both output offset pots were full clockwise.

Ditto, +1.

I recently discovered I was booted, only after clicking on an Audio Circle link from a Google search. My most "offensive" posts were:

Suggesting high-end amp makers competing with Bruno may be reaching for oxygen and/or employing Voo Doo dolls depicting Bruno (Bruno is not among the amp makers paying $1k annual ad fees to AC...do the math).

One particular member with no Ncore experience suggested Ncore buyers should rather purchase "great used amps". Later he posted with the quote box attributed to me only. In the quote box with no indication whatsoever, he directly mixed my words with his own words, omitting his critical and pertinent text associated with the dialog. In the same post he says he's sorry for the quote error, which proves he had 100% knowledge of his offense and posted anyway. Kindly (really, not rudely in any way) I explained his offense and requested he delete the offensive post, after which he asked, "Why should I delete anything?" At least he is consistent in his rudeness and idiocy!

A few days later I do a Google search, click on an Audio Circle link, and find I'm banned.

Ad to my oxygen/voo doo doll list all audio rags, ad revenue streams, and audio forums where Bruno does not pay ad fees.

Every forum has issues...forums are like a wife, you must find the one with the least amount of faults that you can live with. :-)

At the top of the spec, to the right of the picture:
Features
  • Advanced over current protection
  • Remote controlled operation
  • Low weight: 300gr.
  • Compact: 140 x 85 x 50(45)mm
  • Automatic input voltage selection
And bottom of page 3:
Mounting the SMPS600 on the chassis can be done by using the 10mm spacers. This creates the
mandatory 6mm clearance from the bottom side of the PCB to the chassis without the need for
additional insulating material. However, if the enclosure is limited in height, one shall need to use
smaller spacers and provide a layer of insulation both above and below the SMPS with a minimum
thickness of 0.5mm in order to comply with the Class 2 Safety Directive. If these measures are taken
into account, the maximum overall height can be reduced to 45mm.

Thanks guyv. I'm going to build a simple 3D model to fit in the enclosures.
