Default measured 2SK170BL

For my batch of 100, subject to the measuring limitations in house, all were within the BL range of 6.0 to 12 mA.

Results ranged from 6.3 to 10.8 mA. Matches available with grouping predominantly below 8.1 mA (81 0f 100), with scattered singles and duals above that (19 of 100).

Happy to have gotten these. Projects can continue.

Thanks to Zhou Fang

Ed LaFontaine,

You are welcomed!
For best matching you may record down which position on the reel each JFET come from. Jfet next to each other on reel were next to each other on the wafer, so you can expect their whole curve to match better.

Zhou & all

My measurements were done with the devices still in the paper tape. I recorded the results on the tape next to the device.

I set up a jig with spring clips that allowed changing the DUT. One clip provided the contact for the Drain. The other clip provided the contact and bridge between the Gate & Source.

In my batch, I see few matches for devices next to one another. My suspicions are that the devices are placed on the tape in a random fashion.
At the end of measurements, I returned to the first device measured and got the same result. I did this out of concern for drift & change in applied voltage.

I wish the best to you

Ed LaFontaine,

One reason I chose tape over bulk is that, as I plan to match some of the devices, it is convinent to write on the paper tape instead of getting another sticker.
Certainly we think alike.
