New FIFO buffer for RPI/SBCs

Isolator can supply more than 600ma , in fact at 800ma should have no problems
Isolator adds more cost (board $55 + batteries etc), so does it provide real benefit? The control board already has a usb C socket so presumably can power the 3 board stack independently of the pi ; there are a lot of variables here. From the testing do you get a sense of the optimum configuration that is going to provide the best sound quality.

We are nearing a new isolator board to be used with our Katana that is passive (takes power from above stage) and its much cheaper.

It can only be used with Master Dacs (our Boss and Katana)

Right now it sounds best with 2 PSUs , one for RPI and second for Katana

That HAT tower becomes a skyscraper. :D

OK. That would be expected. We've been reporting this for... ...actually since the beginning of HAT DAC times. ;) That applies to all HATs. And usually the lower the HAT quality the more they benefit.
I don't want to stress that usually even a third supply - if possible to apply - for e.g the analog output stage might be well worth an investment.

Anyhow. Now you guys are launching the premier league for HAT DACs.
Pricewise and hopefully also performancewise. We'll see. ;)

Great developments.

2 high quality power supplies or HQ on the Katana only. With an isolator board in place the pi should only require the standard ~$12 Also smps? and the Katana would be powered by the new smps?

We have a 3 and a 4 way :)

How is the new isolator board progressing? Is it possible to now give a preliminary description of the whole stack, placement of connectors (usb c, power headers, jumpers etc.) on the boards and any other options in the configuration of the final player.
