I agree because I have the same feeling, the first day I use and after a week, the sound is getting much better. Especially on voice and treble, while it's bass was already very good at my fist day.
I didn't play a lot everyday, just 1-2hrs, so I would say 10-20hr burn in time will have big difference.
I don't know the theory behind, but that's my observation.

The most obvious explanation would be your ears/brain getting used to the sound.

The BIG electrolytics need a lot of hours.

Verified by me this year when I changed the cheap EPCOS 15,000uF 35V 85º by expensive Mundorf MLGO 47,000uF 25V 125º in my DC Blocker prototype.

The sound was changing, sometimes it was better and others worse in my main system. When that happened my second system sounded good, without fluctuations. After more 200 hours the sound stabilized and I moved it to my second system and the DCB with EPCOS 18,000uF 105º to the main system.

So I verified by myself what so many others said about it.

Marantz PM-KI Ruby, with Hypex NC500?

Marantz Is Back: 40th-Anniversary Marantz KI Ruby Series | The Absolute Sound

The integrated’s amplifier section uses a special switching technology (though Marantz prefers not to call it Class D) similar to that found in Marantz’s PM-10. There’s no analog-to-digital conversion, but the signal gets transformed into pulses with the driver circuit increasing the pulses’ amplitude. While this approach is said to be powerful and efficient, it requires the use of an output filter. Rather than putting a feedback loop before the output filter, Marantz uses a patented technology that takes the feedback right from the speaker connection and allows the amp to correct for distortion...

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

They seem Hypex NC500 like Marantz PM-10.

A commercial amplifier with the Hypex NC500 + HDAM buffer, Marantz PM KI Ruby:

What happens after 20 watts? Why?

The S / N ratio is good in absolute scale and is excellent for class D value of 6 dB, and the dynamics climbs to the ceiling of 108 dB.
It must be 86 dB at 1 watt. OK in a cheap SS amplifier but hot here! € 4,000 or $ 4,000.
