Look at this tread R4 resistors on Trident Regulators - Trident Regulators - Twisted Pear Audio Support
Both Russ and Brian mention trident V3 and compare it with V1.1 which is the old type.

The change in Trident was primarily to enable it to run at higher voltages (for future Opus VA duties, etc). We replaced the opamp with a higher voltage unit, and changed the shunt transistors to SOT-223 form factor. We also added an SMD spot for R4 so I could pre-mount the current setting resistor, mainly to save the time required to get them ready (labeling resistors is a time consuming task).

Brian,
Can the upgrade (op-amp and shunt transistor) be applied to older trident v1.1? Any benefit doing it for Bii?
Thanks for the information.

I will start a new topic so I can introduce it properly.

The Trident 3 update would be worthwhile for any app. It is a better circuit and natural evolution and I am very pleased with the feedback from users and testers that made that evolution possible.
