Could I send lpcm to the buffalo 3 with a box like this?
I am ubnsure how rto fix the inverted lfe and center though.
I do not have the spdif board just wondering if it would work just tapping the output like is done here on the sil9135.

That is sort of what I am asking.
In the picture shown in the photo with the wires
RP36 and RP33 are they the correct wires for the I2S?
Here is more info on the board
S/PDIF General Installation
(I do not have the switchbox board I just was going to use it to wire the I2S from the hdmi to the buffalo)
It is not downsampled I have tested with 192 24bit lpcm and it passes fine over the hdmi and also the spdif output but that is only 2 channel.
Would the bit transporter work for this??

That should work fine, but you can only use one SPDIF input at a time on the Buffalo. You could try extracting eight channels of I2S instead.
EDIT: I am pretty sure the audio will be downsampled however.
