Giving it a shake down.
Hi Folks,

I recently ordered a BIII with the intent of building a USB I2S 8 channel DAC for a JRiver HTPC. I am currently on page 48 of this thread but thought I would ask:

1. What are folks using for the USB I2S interface? Is TPA developing one?

2. Is the AC2 near completion?

Thanks,
Mike

1. Amanero USB, I think there is still a GB going on here at diyAudio, I have two and they seem to be very good, will play any frequency you (or I) can think of.

I believe it has been completed, but that there's no documentation for it, so it hasn't been offered for sale.

Most seem to be going down the Arduino route, but I'm holding out for the TP product, as I'm too lazy to work out how to connect up the Arduino and do all the programming.

Default Amanero vs. exaU2I

Amanero is 2-channel, if you want 8-ch, exaDevises exaU2I is the only option...

Is it possible that I could remove all shunt regulators and disable local clock?
And power the board with three 3.3v batteries?

You need 1.2V for VDD.
