You don't need that.
That is internal resistance

thanks for the help ..... in short, I asked a stupid thing ....
but the 330R is a fixed value or I can try other resistor type or 220r 560R ..... What changes ...?
thanks for the advice, but I'm not very technical ...

Maybe is better to answer this question somebody with more knowledge
What I know is, with lower resistance you will have smaller V out.

the lower the value, the better the sound(the output of the buff works better this way). and the lower the voltage.
i use 1R right now. just see the whole thing as a voltage divider, in my case it looks like this:
we have 1,65v on the output, 195R inner resistance.
with 1R in the circuit joe rasmussen suggests it looks like this:
195R + 1R=196R
so we have 1,65v on 196R or 0,0084v on 1R (1,65/196=0,0084)

when you use 10R the voltage is tenfold (1,65/196) x 10....

in my case i have a stepup ration of 1:5, so i get around 42mv on the transformer output. i have an active stage after the transformer gain is around x42 which gives me 1,76 out of the dac.

i listened to the whole thing just with the transformer for some months, the sound was very good, but i really recommend to try an active stage, it sounds MUCH better!

What kind of transformer you have? Are there any sugestions of choosing transformer parameters, brends best for this DAC? Is there any sound quality comparison with discrete iv stage?

i think, any high quality mc-stepup will sound good, this dac really deserves the best you can get. i use a S&B TX103. discrete iv...i only listened to the ivy. the sound was good, but now it is in a completely different league. as it should, when you look at the $ i spend in the components.
and it makes sense to play around with the loading of the stepup, i used a pot.

If you mean that ivy is more pricy than transformer, than I do not understand a price for Teramoto FINEMET transformer. Does it have gold windings or something else worth special? Sound quality should be similar to any other transformer.

i mean the opposite!
with ivy you get very good sound, but even the plate chokes for my 5842-stage are more expensive than the ivy-kit. a nice stepup transformer will also cost some hundred $, duelund caps........it would be a sad story if this thing would not sound better than the ivy or any compareable stage.

teramoto....i dont believe in magic
should sound good, but 1000$? no option for me...

May I ask where to find those stepup transformers?
