$7050 so far, that's an amazing donation from the DIY community.

It's amazing to me since up until now I had perceived the typical DIY'er as somewhat of a bunch of ... er.. cheapskates

Why pay for what you can often do better yourself for cheaper?

Doctors without borders is going to do a job we probably can't do - for a worthwhile cause... makes sense to give money to them

I am a cheapskate! 10 bucks is dirt cheap for the feeling that you did something unquestionably good. The chance of winning is extra.

Citrix Systems (my employer) has come through with $1000 in matching funds.
