I thought I share with all of you on how I use Mark's drivers with Twin cabinets. I normally like to use high efficiency drivers, Mark's driver normally gives about 85-86 dB spl, hence not does not meet my requirements, then I thought of using them in parallel a more respectable spl output of about 91dB.

Twin's Christmas special of$100 per pair for CHR 70.3, is too good to refuse so I bought 2 pairs. See image on how I arrange the speakers. There many ways to arrange the speakers, e.g. dipole, bipole arrangements as well. I will have a fun time experimenting.

I am currently driving them using a single ended KT88 tube. So far sounds quite good. They will improve as drivers are "burnt in".

Hello,

Your system is quite interesting. It is a good tip for user to play 2 pairs of CHR-70 Gen.3 in parallel connection. The impedance of 2 pairs of CHR-70 Gen.3 in parallel is increased to 16 ohms.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's is an option, this way the spl remains around 86dB and I mount the speakers about 1 foot from the rear wall and I don't need BSC.

I will try various options to get the best sound from my seating position.

I think parallel the speakers means the impedance drops to 4 ohms nominal not 16ohm that's the speakers are connected series.

You are right. The impedance of parallel connection is 4 ohms and series connection is 16 ohms.
