Hi Andreas,

Can you upload the photo of Solus ECL805?

Thanks,
Tony.

It is a pair label-changed Solus ECL805 (which is the longlife-version of the Brimar ECL85 - from the very same production-line in Cambridge, England) tested, originally boxed, NOS from the sixties.
Per pair 28,- , selected/balanced pair 12,- extra.
Greetings from Franconia/Germany,
Andreas

Default NOS Solus ECL805 (Brimar Production)

Hi there,
that is at least one Photo I had already made from the
british Solus / Brimar valves
which I bought from my local tube-dealer.

Default Sound of the Solus ECL805 (Brimar ECL85)

Hello Tony,
as I already described in the Nr.34 post: they give more bass-authority and overall more integrity in the soundstage; very lush and relaxed emotion coming when listening to them. I at least never changed back to the original chinese 6F3 or the russian equivalents.
Your Amp with these valves and fullrange-speakers make a perfect match!
Greetings,
Andreas

The bottom of the 805s look like part of a Telefunken 7189 with the little wings on the round. I look at the tubes and try and see a 6BM8 in one but none of the 3 especially the 805s are anything like any of the brands I have seen and used. There are a number of triode/pentodes out there. The 6gv8 or what ever the US type is doesn't have any numbers in the GE book except in class A the triode runs at 100V and the pentode at170V. That is low to get 2.5 watts, so maybe they run it a bit harder but the most either section is supposed to take before meltdown is 250V. So in SE you could push these things and it isn't going to raise much of anything.
I can see how using a preamp would be a help. You can't run an electric anything with 100V so while I don't know how much you are going to get out of a computer but I can't run 96db speakers with real authority with a SE 6BQ5 with half a 12AX7 running each side off my computer. Still sounds good but no real punch, so Yes doesn't move me like my 300B does.

Hello Tony,

Gold and Pink/Red out of stock, does that mean for ever, or will APPJ prodcue new units in Gold or Pink/Red?

Kind regards,

Wybren

Hi Wybren,

Yes, APPJ already stopped the production of 6F3 amp and no longer produce this model in the future. There are still some stock for black, silver and gray colors, but the quantity is not many. If you want to buy, please place order as soon as possible.

Thanks & Regards,
Tony.

I just received my pink 6F3 amplifier, it came with four tubes, the original ones and two boxes of Tesla NOS. It was the last one at Ebay seller: ayumitubes, paid $ 161,40 . And I really wanted the pink one. I did not test it yet, I need to get my hands on some speakers first and cable with the right kind of plugs. And I was very pleased with the fact that I did not have to pay any duties...
Now the only other thing would be a pair of those really nice Oak cabinets from Tony.

regards, Wybren
