EL84 Push Pull Integrated Amplifier
 

This EL84 amplifier is our new design. It is EL84 or 6BQ5 class AB push pull circuit. The input stage is a single 12AX7/ECC83 twin triode which is a very common tube as voltage amplifying stage in tube amp. For the phase inversion stage, we specially make use of a pair power pentode EL84 to achieve good dynamic range and speed. So there are 6 pcs. EL84 tubes in this amp.

The output stage of this amplifier operated in class AB. We made cathode bias circuit which added one cathode resistor for each EL84. The bias of EL84 tube is automatically adjusted with the change of plate voltage of EL84. Thus user doesn't need to adjust the bias of EL84 tubes. The advantages of the cathode bias circuit are able to keep working condition stable and protect tubes.

CDET 0.33uF/630VDC (USA) capacitors are used for coupling and Philips BC 100uF/100V capacitors for cathode for EL84 tubes.

CDET 0.33uF/630VDC film capacitors perform stable and sound neutral.
