My preamp which has a regulated psu and 12au and at7's has developed quite a hum.. not mains hum but a loud clean hum. I changed the rectifier tonite and it went away completely for 2 hours and then it has reappeared so I assume the rectifier has been cooked..
so the question is. Where would i start? I assume the rectifier must be passing too much current causing it to hum? I would appreciate any suggestions as to where to start. The hum is in both channells... thanks for any suggestions Nick
