What to do with 2x Stancor A3830?

5K is a nice medium impedance that would work with a low-powered 6L6GT (no need for GC) or EL34 schematic. Alternatively, you could probably use a couple of 6GW6's if you're careful. They're TV sweep tubes with a plate dissipation of around 17W. Another idea is to use the Russian 6P3S tube, it's kind of like a 6L6GT with a plate dissipation of 18W or so.

As for driving the tubes, I'd suggest the venerable LTP, either cathode-resistor biased or with a CCS, most likely followed by a driver stage using low-Ra tubes like the 12BH7 or some such.

What does your budget look like?

Thanks, sorenj07.

But ... is there some already worked out schematic that can be recommended?

I've found this site to be pretty helpful, but I'm a bit weary of building from scratch as this is my first build. Oh yeah, and the full specs for the Stancor A 3830 are linked below the useful design link - too many choices, ack!!
