6201 alternative

Hello,
I have an old amp using 6201, and was wondering if I could use
other tubes as substitutes, like a 12AT7? Those are much easier
to find.

12AT7/ECC81. New production JJ are particularly good.

Yes, i very much like those. Since i tried them out, my NOS 12at7's have just been collecting dust.

JJ makes a 'special quality' version of the ecc83 (ecc803) and the ecc82 (ecc802s)... it is about time for an ECC801 I would say... maybe modelled after the Telefunken
