Matchless Lightning v Spitfire

I acquired a set of transformers which can be used with either a Matchless Spitfire or Lightning. Does anyone have experience with these amps? Any suggestions on which one to build? Thanks.

I have a copy of the Matchless Lightning with updated NOS Matchless OT's from West Labs..it is a good amp for sure, does great el-84 cleans..& does a wonderfull dirty..I use it for the cleans though, which are very good..Mine has a pentode/triode switch also..Were did you get the trannie set...?

I got a West Labs set also. Ive had them forever, just can't get around to all my projects. LOL.

A pentode / triode switch is a great idea also! Would you share the schematic?

I would if I could, Ed Giller built this amp for me a couple years ago, I did the trannie update, but that is all I have, I could hand write one out for you from what I have, but it would take some time..But could be done if you want.

Don't worry about the schematic on the triode pentode mod. I think I found a "generic" one in a book I have. Seems pretty easy.
