Default another mingda

hello, this is my 1st post here.

I am enjoying this forum very much, as I am sort of new to tubes (except for guitar amps) and as I'm planning to abandon SS I would like to know your thoughts on the following.

Mingda Meixing MC3008-A as in : http://www.ornec.com/product/FR/Meix...ngDa_MC3008-A/
or:
http://www.china-highend-hifi.com/prod011234125333.htm

any thoughts on this one?

or am I better of DIY a JEL/Derek walton clone?

Beauty and the beast?

I must say that I've only listened to PP tube amps before (the likes of jadis and icon audio? if I remember it's name), not SE, but would like very much to roll my Mehldau's cds as well as some other heavier stuff (mostly fusion jazz, gambale and the likes )

many thanks in advance for your time

This 805SE amp project for a first time DIY ,if it is your case , is a heavy one . I have been warned too , B+ at plus 900v , and tricky grid voltage control . Make a search in the forum you will find interesting matter for sure . Have you heard about the KT88 tube , there are good and less expensive designs over here . Mike Abdlelah's for instance . Take a look at http://www.edonion.com for transformer units too because of carrying prices from abroad .

Força !

In fact it is my 1st project (with tubes that is), and for a 1st one I was considering a Derek Walton clone (300B MKIII), but I was asking if anyone knows the ming-da as final product, because it's price tag appears more than reasonable (search ortec for instance).

Thanks again.

ps. 1 abraço

this kind of prices and specs seems almost ridiculous?!

maybe the output transfs are shxxx?

thanks in advance
