The rumour mill seems to be up and running again.
Will Western Electric actually re-start production of these?
I do hope so. It's last re-schedule was to 2003.

Easy to drive?

Are you familiar with this valve?

They don't mention it in their books I have here.

Easier to drive than an 845

Should sound like a dream into 7K or so.

The PDF says it all, and dates from 1935.
