I do not have the schematic diagram of your amplifier, but I can get out of 2 x EL34 and an ecc82 100 watts with 900 Volts on the anode and -39V on G1. (possible with Philips and Telefunken tubes).

Yes, it's possible. Take a look at the 6550A datasheet. As it happens, I've got a 6550-based amp on hand which puts out 100W (it's an Ampex), running the output stage in pentode with about 520V on the plates and a 2200 ohm plate to plate load.

From what I understand, Ampex power amps are collectors' items; I wish I knew that before I disassembled the twin of this amp to provide iron and chassis for my big triode amp. I'm tempted to eBay the intact one.

With your skill you could probably draw up a schematic in about 2 min or less. If your thinking about ebaying it ...please consider your friends here first. |

I have here an 80W 2x6550 amp. I don't have a schematic, don't know the load of the output tubes. It runs the 6550 with 570V on the anode and 320V (regulated) on the screens. ~2000uF total PSU capacitance
![]() It uses a 12pin triple triode for the audio path, the first two ones are cascaded, the last one is a cathodyne phase splitter. An horrible circuit that sounds good PS the 12pin triode/pentode is (I think) used as a regulator for the input stage. The screens have their own solid state one. |

The sound of an EL34 is very good.
I also buils an amplifier with an output of 1200 watts only with EL34's. I already put a link of this amplifier (foto's and schema) in another topic of this forum. |
