Default CD source fortube amp

Hello,
I'm looking for some recommendations for a CD player to be used with some 300B monoblocks. I've looked at the Ah 4000 and Rega Saturn. Have been unable to listen to them on my system, very frustrating. What other alternatives are you using? Would it necessarily be so that a tube output stage would match better with tube amps?
Thanks
