one tube amps
Hi, I see one tube preamp is getting some attention, question is what happened to single stage amps? This was popular subject some time ago and many had good opinion about them. I am for long planing do to something like that, but was not able to grab pair of tubes I heard so many good things about, especially from my Italian friends - Tele EC8020
Since one pair is again auctioned (place we are not supposed to mention here), hope I will be lucky this time. I wonder if somebody had excursion into this area and how efficiently can such amp drive Lowther based box horns like Mauhorn? Any thoughts appreciated Romeo |
