Hello
I have a dead ECL85 tube. I have some UCL85 but I can't find a datasheet. Can I replace the ECL85 with the UCL85, if I change the heating voltage and what is the heating voltage? Merry x-mas. Regards Benny |

I can't find any data on UCL85, but it would be about 55V for 5.5W of heater power at 100 mA, same as 6.3/0.875A.
NOT ALL tube numbers match in different heater ratings - for instance UL84 is not like EL84 - it's like EL86. |

Benny,
Exactly what the heater voltage is for a UCL85 is an interesting question. Tubes with the "U" at the start of the designation are intended for use in 100 mA. series strings. The ECL85 draws 875 mA./6.3 V. So, a reasonable guess for the 100 mA. UCL85 is 55 V.
