Anyone have experience with a 6AN4...?
Looking for a good tube, cheap, high transconductance, for a top grounded grid tube in a cascode preamp with a high heater to cathode voltage. Also thinking about the 6GK5 and the 6ER5, & 6DL4. Just trying to find people with experience. Thanks, Ray

I just used a 6GK5 as a linestage buffer... worked great. 6an4 looks even better on paper. I have som around that I bought for the very putpose of cascoding, but never got around to it.

Yes, The 6AN4s grid could even be driven positive???
