Default preamp tube for metal

I'm looking for a good preamp tube to use to get a ripping metal sound. I have a seymour duncan dimebucker for my bridge pickup, if that helps. I don't own one yet, but I'm looking my guts out for a carvin v3 at a reasonable price (e-mail if you can help me out please!) so that is the amp I'd hopefully be putting it in.

I don't play. But I think the usual junk will do, 6SN7 or 12AX7.

In case you wonder about my musical tastes, this is the best Sweden has (had) to offer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2MBUo2j7W0
Crust, not metal, but close enough.

ECC803S/12AX7A, no doubt. hi gain, is very simple to mod a circuit with this tube. when you design an amp well eith this tube, it kicks ***.
ECC82 has too low gain, ECC88 is the best for high end, ECC84/5 is vf radio tube...
again, 12AX7, no doubt..
I play, guitar and bass so I sould know..

12BZ7. Spectacular distortion spectrum with lots and lots of high order stuff. Cheap. Terrible for hifi, perfect for guitar.
