Default Kofi Annan in: "Seven-Pound Mono Amp"

Finalized a seven-pound mono amplifier yesterday. Loud, LOUD L O U D sound for a mono amp and no distotion whatsoever. Its very small-- fits in the crook of your arm-- but it does get awfully hot.

Any advice on further modifications to get the gain down would be much appreciated. Just can't seem to turn it down low eneough to avoid ear-splitting volume levels.

See for yourself:

There's something of a squawk in the upper midrange.

Heartiest congratulations! If it's your first, I can break the news to you: the days of sleep are over.

yup definitely not (yet) a DIY project.

be advised however, that the unit's power consumption will increase over time - and if you think it's loud now, wait until it's fully broken in (18-30months)

congrats

Congratulations!

So how long before you go for the 7.1 surround sound experience?

Just be glad you only 'built' a mono-block.

If you ended up with a stereo unit, there would be even more cross-talk to contend with.

Congrats, buddy. Fatherhood is a wonderful thing: be faithful to it.

I expect the damping factor needs to be corrected several times
a day.
