Amplimo in the Netherlands offers Svetlana EF86 for sale @ 13.00 Euro (excl. VAT). I have bought tubes and transformers from them with no problems. Why not drop them an email and ask about future supply?

Searching for signal pentodes in current production is difficult. One approach you could take is to buy 6AU6/EF94 tubes, which seem OK for audio. They are abundant and cheap but they vary in terms of noise and microphony, so it's probably best to buy a dozen or more and select the best. Any that are noisy or microphonic would probably still be able to do duty in a pentode CCS but would not be so good as a voltage amplifier.

There's GOOD NEWS on the EF86 front. Earlier this year, New Sensor resumed production of the type. It's available under the ElectroHarmonix (EH) label. Initial reports about the EH tube are FAVORABLE. The pattern of improving quality at the Saratov, Russia plant under New Sensor's management seems to be holding up.
