Default wellborne labs

anyone heard the wellborne labs ultrapath battery powered preamp?
what well known preamps have you compared it to?

i have a chance to get a new one assembled by wellborne for $1400 also can get a new full warranty belles 21a with auracap upgrade ($3000) for $1500, any thoughts.

I can't help you with any particular comment for mentioned preamp etc. ,but-looking at these price tags-mebbe is time for little DIY adventuring

the wellborne does come in kit form for $1295 but i can just barely plug in a power cord let alone diy.

I also can't help with any particular comment on the preamp, but I have some Welborne power amps and they are very very good. His DIY kits are generally priced not much higher than the cost of the parts, and considering the amount of time to build it, it is not a bad deal at all.
