My first tube preamplifier:)

This is my first tube preamplifier project.
It is a simple phono amplifier with passive RIAA equalization, but it sounds great

I got the schematics from this site

Nice work. I especially like the shielding around the transformer. Looks really good. I might try the circuit sometime myself with 6N1P.

How does it sound after a couple days? Any first impressions?
Also, from the layout it looks as if you used the first power supply he listed...any reasons why you went with that instead of his second suggestion?

I think it sounds great. But this is my first tubeamp, and i have nothing to compare it with....
The reason I used the first powersupply, is that i already had all the components for it

Nice work. I also like the transformer shielding, very clever as it both shields and adds to the aesthetics. I'm not a fan of the way open frame transformers look but price makes me use them sometimes!

I've got a decent SS phono-pre but since I think all the parts to this are in my junk... errrr spare parts box I might give this one a go.
