Default Difference between two novals

Hello all !

Recently, i'm wanna get to know more things about tubes but in this domain, i didn't know things some guru tubes who must living here. In many realisations, i can see 6922 tube like preamplifier and in another website ( www.ancient.com.pl ) i see a 6H30 ( 6N30 ). Sometimes they are comparated but i've also read what we doesn't replace a 6922 by a 6h30 so i am very curious about them.

I hope to have somes responses to my open question.

Thanks you a lot to have read my text.

Max,

The Russian 6n23p is the equivalent of the Western 6DJ8/ECC88.

The Russian 6n30p is a HIGH gm/LOW Rp type that resembles the 5687 and ECC182. Another tube in production of this character is JJ's ECC99.

I am courious, too.
In my country is a webshop selling:
6H30PI-EB Sovtek
for 22.00€ euro per tube

What can these tubes do?
Worth the price compared to 6922 ( 6DJ8, E88CC ) if i want to build line pre amplifier?

lineup using few but high quality components is one way to simplicity
- and to the final audio nirvana sound of music

The 6H30PI is as good as any tube. But it seems to be used primarily as a driver in integrated/power amps.

Before you decide on tubes you first should look into what you need. Today you usually don't need a preamp, but only a buffer or low-gain line stage.

Here's a popular low-gain stage: Yet another 12B4 line stage, or is the 12B4 better than the Grounded Grid.....
