AC or grounded DC for heater?
Hi, I am building a small tube amplifier and when I got to the heater power supply part I got confused about the requirements.
-Does it matter if I use AC or DC for the heater filament? -Do I have to ground the filament input?-pin 4 on the attached schematic shows that it is grounded. |

From what I've read recently, both heater pins can be connected to AC ground via a .01uF cap. I haven't come across a suggestion yet on connecting it directly to ground. |
