Help me understand this please ! I have a marshall el84 20/20 power amp. Inside is a sticker and instructions to adjust bias to 70mv. No problem there done it lots of times, but.........Could I go colder ie 30mv or hotter say 100mv? What I am seeking is early break up. What effect does the bias setting have on this ? I know too hot shortens tube life. Power output is not an issue as matter of fact less is more so .... ? What would be a "safe" range for me to try ?
Thanks for your knowledge and willingness to enlighten those of us who are as of yet un-informed and inexperienced ! Dave |
