Well, maybe not exactly simple (as usual, this depends on personal skills), but certainly a good one, have a look at (German language):
UKW Projekt @ Jogis Röhrenbude Follow those links at the TOP to find additional info on current modules. The pics below the link block show old versions. Tom

MPX stereo is complex. VHF superhet circuitry is sophisticated too. If you set your sights lower and settle for mono, things become MUCH more manageable. Peruse the following 4 pages. http://www.somerset.net/arm/reprints/fm_tuner_1.jpg http://www.somerset.net/arm/reprints/fm_tuner_2.jpg http://www.somerset.net/arm/reprints/fm_tuner_3.jpg http://www.somerset.net/arm/reprints/fm_tuner_4.jpg Given that regulatory agencies get upset by spurious radiation. You'll have to isolate the antenna from the Colpitts circuitry by an untuned grounded grid stage. Ideal tubes for the GG are the 5842 and the Russian 6s45p.

too expensive -- consider purchasing a dynaco fm-3 with the manual -- this will be much more reasonable.
