I was looking at their site and they look ugly. I'm not sure if you get a cover.
if lundalh are not potted, where can one get a potted xformer? thanks for the reply. |

what type of transformer? output, power, interstage?
if you like beautiful looking potted transformers, look at James and Tamura. There are others which slips my mind right now. |

unfortunately not yet. it's the tamura and tango that are available here, and the distributor is my friend.
ps. he's also selling Lundahl, but mostly interstage. cheers! |

I agree that a Lundahl tranny, whether OPT or power, wouldn't win any beauty contest. If you can mount it underneath the chassis, I guess it doesn't matter. I think Lundahl sells some sort of metal cover to hide the thing but whether it's available for all models of tranny I don't know.
The good news is that Lundahl's prices are reasonable and Lundahl's products have a very good reputation. |

Open or potted is a matter of personnal taste. The LL1630 etc. are open. I personally like that somehow technical look of the open transformer
Currently I use the LL7902's in my phono stage and LL1570XL's as 2:1 step down input transformers instead of input buffers for my inverted gainclone. These transformers have a mu metal cases and sound terrific. Lundahl offers a good price/quality ratio IMHO and this is important to me. Cheers KlausB |
