Default Output Transformers for an EL84 Push-Pull Amp

Hi,

I am looking for a pair of OTs for a 15W EL84 Push Pull amp (for 8 Ohm speakers).

It's a kit from World Audio Design (KEL84: http://www.world-designs.co.uk/acatalog/kel84.pdf ) and comes with stock OTs that are of comparable quality to Hammonds. This is a simple PP circuit. I am looking for a clear improvement over the stock OTs, without going overboard cost-wise - e.g. $800 for OTs would be overkill for this amp.

(The stock OTs come with ultra linear taps. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the exact specs of the stock OTs.)

Are there some specific manufacturers you would recommend? How about O-Netics?

Many thanks
Peter

Try and score a couple of vintage Heathkit EA-3 mono amps on ebay. These have very good ultralinear output xfmers designed for EL84 and go quite inexpensively. Another Heathkit amp that used P-P U/L EL84's and had the same excellent output iron is the AA-100 stereo amp. These were all circa 1960 or so.
