I have read some disparaging remarks about the 6N1P in certain threads, as well as some very favourable ones in the Aikido threads. I bought a bunch of Russian 6N1P-EV's on eBay thinking that they would just be similar to Sovtek 6922's and could be run in the 100V B+ region and give low distortion. Well, they are both in my hands and I can see they are not similar. The 6N1P's internals look much beefier. If I look at 6N1P-EV plate curves, they do look like they need higher B+ to get nice and linear. On the other hand, people are running them in Aikido's with 200V B+ for a cascoded pair, passively loaded, and say they sound great.
