pentode driven 300b set amp - any info?

I was told that a set amp will sound better when driven by a pentode
instead of a dual triode because it removes some phase shift problems
and provides more gain.

1) anyone have info about this?
2) which amps are made with this design?
3) which pentodes would be ideal for this type amp?

Really? I was going for the same project as well but with 2A3 for the output.

My friend has a WE91 (310->300B) amp that sounded very good with a Tamura OPT. Another friend loaned me an Angela 91 that sounded somewhat slow and boring.

There are a couple of Pentode driven designs in th net, but look no further as in this forum itself, Thorsten aka Kuei Yang Wang, posted a step-by-step instruction on making a Pentode driven 45 direct coupled amp. In addition, I think the Kofi Annan thread will be using a D3 pentode as his driver for 300B.

I am not that brave to waste my pentode in a direct-coupled design should I screw up the circuit, so I will be making this instead.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I got the WE404A values from Thorsten himself.
