Default Svetlana EL509 III tubes

would like to know if anybody has tried this tubes and what were your experience with them. the tube resembles a KT88 with a 45watt plate rating.

i will be going to Yuzno-Zakhalinsk by Feb.15 to work on a Shell LNG plant at Pregorrodnoye area.

a quad will cost me U$100 delivery to site included.

thanks in advance.

I like EL509's as PS pass tubes. Never tried 'em with audio.

Tony,
A good friend who is a tube dealer says that the Svetlana EL-509s are of very dubious quality. He has found that many failed during testing. He was very insistant that I use the EI manufactured tubes. I used EI Yugo EL-509/519 tubes in the push pull amp and have not had any problems with the EI tubes at all. They sound fabulous.
