This sucks.
So I got all my new caps. I got the cathode bypass caps replaced (painful) as well as one of the external filter caps (literally painful - burnt a little insulation on the power tube plate supply wires, that smoke stings when it gets in your eyes!) and now I've got the other external filter and the can out. Now I'm not sure how I'm going to put in the new individual caps. My original plan was to mount a terminal strip on the outside right next to the original can hole and wire everything to that so I could mount the new caps externally, but now I realize there isn't enough slack wire to do that. There isn't enough room under the chassis for more caps, and I don't know what to do. |
