I am visiting relatives in Sydney, Australia, and one of them is interested in building a headphone amp (with my help). He wants to use the Morgan Jones design, or a variant thereof. The design calls for 6DJ8/E88CC triodes and doesn't use an OPT. For the power supply, it would be nice to try a tube rectifier such as EF80.
I don't know where in Sydney to look for tubes, tube sockets, a power tranny, a case and the other components that will be needed. Can anyone help please? |

Not in Sydney, but Black Art audio sell lots of transformers. They're in Victoria.

Hi
Ditto WES Components in Ashfield. Also try Jaycar Electronics www.jaycar.com.au (several locations) and Altronics www.altronics.com.au (in Auburn) The EF80 is an RF pentode. Perhaps you meant EZ80. Cheers Rob |
