Default Oil Filled Capacitor not upright OK?

As above, do I have to fix it in a upright on the chassis or lying down inside is fine?

thx!

If you are talking about motor-run type caps they are perfectly happy mounted horizontally. As for other types, I don't know.

I'm not really sure, it looks like this... <attached> If it's the "upright only" type, which direction is fine, as long as it's upright, correct?

p.s. I can hear some slushing when I shake it, I presume it's the oil inside...

That looks like a motor run cap. You should be able to mount it pretty much any way you want.

I've mounted mine vertically (upright) sticking through the top plate of the amp because they take up less room that way. If you don't like them protruding like that you can mount them horizontally inside the chassis.

They can be held in place horizontally with wire-ties but a nice method is to use a conduit clamp. They have a flat side that can be attached to the chassis with a screw and a round section that holds the cap. They are available in sizes from about 1/2" up to about 3".
